Welcome to the Brew Enthusiast

Beer is great...isn't it? If you're reading this article, then you're probably most of the way toward agreeing with this statement. I could talk about it for hours and hours, pontificating away about how delicious it is, and how it makes me feel, and why it's so interesting.

I won't do that, but I could.

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to The Brew Enthusiast! We are a few people, just like you, who came together on a labor of love and decided to make the most interesting craft beer website in the universe (pending a full review of the universe). We are consumers of a substance that someone else spent a lot of time making, and we can only show our appreciation for their work through humble patronage and high praise. Our site, and its continuous evolution, hopes to achieve the same thing our favorite breweries have already done: Combine simple ingredients to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

I won’t be dramatic and say we’re in the middle of a “craft beer revolution”, but I think we are living in an exciting time for the industry. There are going to be close to 3,000 certified craft breweries operating in the USA by middle of 2014. More people will be drinking more craft beer than ever before. More festivals, music venues, bars, restaurants, package stores, and all manner of businesses and homebrewers alike will offer the largest selection of styles and flavors in recorded history (the ancient Sumerians loved their beer, but they didn’t have anything like this).  This community of brewers and drinkers continues to support each other, and beer has quickly become elevated to a world-class beverage because of their efforts.

We’d like to spread the love and find the stories and anecdotes that got us to this far, while fostering our own community of brew enthusiasts willing to join in and share their adventure. We hope to bring you all the information you’ll need to get involved and share our passion for this delicious beverage (along with a lot of information you probably don’t need and will end up forgetting…nobody bats a thousand).

Send us your story. Email, tweet, facebook, instagram, carrier pigeon…whatever’s easiest for you. Give us your opinion.  Suggest an improvement. Tell us we’re pretty.

Cheers, Prost, Slainte, and Salud
